Deca-Medics currently has five issued patents to protect its method of a downward force into the chest that is converted into resultant forces that are both sternal and circumferential. The five issued patents are: #5,738,637, issued April 14, 1998, # 6,234,984, issued May 22, 2001, #6,325,771, issued December 4, 2001, #6,645,163 issued November 11, 2003 and 7,186,215 issued March 6, 2007. DMI has filed for international protection covering patent #5,738,637; four US patents and other patent disclosures are pending. Additionally, patent #5,738,637 includes provisions for the incorporation of defibrillation and automation.
